About g7

g7 denotes a shaft tolerance zone with sliding deviation in the ISO 286 system. It is used in H8/g7 (Coarser than H7/g6 for guide pins, sliding sleeves and levers needing smooth, near-zero-play motion but made on general-purpose (not precision) machine tools.).

At Ø25 mm g7 is −0.007 / −0.028 mm, i.e. 24.972 to 24.993 mm.

How the limits are calculated

g7 uses grade IT7 (a standard tolerance of 21 µm at 18–30 mm). Fundamental deviation: es is tabulated directly by ISO 286-1 Table 2; ei = es − IT7. See the fundamental deviation table for every letter. Values per ISO 286-1:2010.
